A prayer for messengers of #truejustice

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20 NLT)

Lord, we pray for your messengers of peace who are taking public stands for #truejustice. Give them courage to speak your truth in love, in the face of hatred and threats of violence. Call out, Lord, from among your people, others who will trust you, instead of fearing man, and take their stand alongside your messengers of peace. We pray that slaves of chaos and anarchy would hear your call and be set free from their captivity to the evil one. Drive out the spirits of anger and hatred that would enslave us all. Please grant that the gentle light of your love would pierce this fierce darkness descending upon us. Open hearts, Lord, to understand that justice already has been accomplished by your righteous will, through your Son’s courageous sacrifice. Grant repentance, Lord, that humbles your enemies and allows them to enter your Kingdom and live in the abundance that belongs to your children. In your righteous wrath, Lord, crush the head of the evil one who is stealing, killing, and destroying. Glorify your name, Almighty God, through your righteous remnant, beyond anything we could even imagine. In the name of your Son, and for the sake of your Name, Lord, please grant our prayer.

A hope-filled future for our cities

In the latest episode of our God’s Revolution podcast, we’re talking with Glenn Barth, president and CEO of Good Cities, about how we can help cities experience a future filled with hope.

Good Cities is a community development initiative that advances the gospel of the Kingdom by working with local leaders toward the common good of the city. The mission of Good Cities is to discover, support, and serve vibrant city movements by building processes that create good cities.

Our good friend Reggie McNeal works alongside Glenn in helping community leaders discover the power and collective impact of collaboration. Using the Good City tools, church leaders can help their communities experience God’s common grace in the redemptive features a city has to offer, which in turn leads to the opportunity for people to experience God’s salvation and a future filled with hope.

Brad Brisco: Misunderstanding church, God, and mission

In this episode, we’re talking with Brad Brisco about a couple of the biggest barriers that keep Western Christians and churches from effectively sharing the good news of God’s kingdom.

Brad, who is a longtime church-planting catalyst, breaks down our misunderstandings of what the Church is — and even of who God is — and explains how we can begin to equip and activate all the people of God to engage in God’s mission right where he has sent us to live, work, and play.
