‘Real Christians’ help atheist opponent
Kate Shellnut at The Houston Chronicle blog reports:
An atheist activist who opposed an Athens, Texas, nativity scene now is receiving help from the very group of Christians he opposed.
Patrick Greene threatened to file a lawsuit over the nativity scene, which was set up in front of the Henderson County courthouse last Christmas. He dropped the threat in February, when he learned he had an eye condition that could leave him blind.
Sand Springs Baptist Church saw Greene’s need and donated $400 to help him pay for treatment. Greene accepted the help of what he called “real Christians” willing to love and help others.
